Dear Friends of APSE,
As you
may already know, Kentucky
will host the 19th annual national conference of APSE: The
Network on Employment. This year's conference will be held at
the Downtown Louisville Marriott July 9 - 11th. This is a
tremendous opportunity for Supported Employment in Kentucky! We
are excited and energized to welcome 600 people from across the
United States and the world to explore innovative ideas and
practices dedicated to finding quality employment opportunities
for people with disabilities.
This conference will allow us to show off what
excellent Supported Employment services we have across the
Commonwealth! I certainly hope you will be able to attend this
outstanding event as it will offer
fantastic training opportunities and speakers. I also
invite you to get involved in other ways. We will need lots of
volunteers during the conference; your agency can place an
advertisement in the program and/or exhibit. This is a great
opportunity to share what it is you do everyday.
Our biggest challenge - and opportunity - in
preparing for this conference is securing sponsorship dollars.
A sponsorship committee has been working for months to lay the
groundwork to reach out to agencies and businesses across
Kentucky to let them know about this conference and the
opportunity it can provide them. The best way for us to
identify interested companies is through you...our own Kentucky
network!
Everyday you empower people to show that everyone
can work, no matter what the impact of disability. Your work
enables companies to see the value of hiring people with
disabilities as good business practice. Sponsoring this
conference is also good business practice. Not only does it
support APSE, but this is an incredible opportunity for a
company to market their name, product, and mission to a
national audience of 600! The sponsorship committee has put
together information (see the brochure below) and can assist you
in inviting participation from others. All donations are tax
deductable. If you have someone you think might be interested in
